Welcome to the Flow Cytometry Facility at the Ludwig Center for Cancer Research of the University of Lausanne (LICR@UNIL)
The Flow Cytometry Facility (FCF) of LICR@UNIL was created from the Flow Cytometry Core Facility of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR), Lausanne Branch with its integration into the University of Lausanne (UNIL) in January 2011.
The facility was originally set up by LICR in 1978 with the purchase of one of the first BD FACS II Cell Sorters in Europe. Back in those days Flow Cytometry was still in its infancy.
Over the years the facility has gradually expanded and today it is equipped with 8 analytical flow cytometers and three Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorters (FACS) located on 2 sites. 7 of these analysers as well as two Cell Sorters are located within the Biopole III building at the UNIL Campus. One analysers and a FACS are located on the Nestlé building at the CHUV campus.
The Facility offers a cell sorting service as well as flow cytometry analysers for use by UNIL internal and external research groups or companies. Comprehensive training and assistance is also provided by the FCF staff.
For further information about facility resources and services or how to access them please refer to the specific sections of this website or contact the FCF staff.
