EXHIBITION FELIX VALLOTTON
After last years very successful exhibition Le très singulier Vallotton, which was seen by over 80 000 visitors at the Musée des beaux-arts, in Lyon, and the Musée Cantini, in Marseille, Félix Vallotton (1865-1925) will again be a hit at the 16e Salon du livre (Book and Media Fair), to take place at Genevas Palexpo, from May 1st to May 5th 2002. An important Félix Vallotton Exhibition, including paintings, woodcuts and illustrations, is indeed to be presented in the frame of this major event. Its curator, Jean-Paul Morel, is a specialist of French Fin-de-Siècle press. It is thus expected to see a large section devoted to the nowadays little known artists activity as press illustrator. As Jean-Paul Morel will have situated Vallottons drawings in the political and social context of their time, their rebel spirit will fully find its sense in the eye of the public. |
