Deadlines for authors

  • > 15th February, 2008: Deadline for submission of short papers.
  • > 15th April, 2008: Notification of paper acceptance.
  • > 30th April, 2008: Deadline for formal registration.
  • > 30th June, 2008: Final program of contributed talks, and deadline for later registration.
  • > 1st July, 2008: Distribution of documentation to participants.
  • > 20th-23rd August, 2008: Conference.

Submitting contributed papers

Potential presenters are invited to submit an abstract and a short paper. Short papers should not exceed 3 pages, and they should be sent electronically from the online paper submission by 15th February, 2008.

Authors of accepted papers will be notified by 15th April, 2008.

The committee welcomes proposals for presentations in all areas that involve the use of quantitative and statistical methods in the formulation, administration, and interpretation of evidence. Examples of appropriate subject areas are listed under Conference themes. Note that papers need not be constrained by the subjects listed, and any paper in the interface of law, forensic science, statistics and probability will be considered.

Publication of papers

The scientific committee proposes to publish a selection of papers presented at the conference in a special issue of the journal Law, Probability and Risk (published by Oxford University Press).

Presenters who wish their papers considered for publication may contact the conference organizers at any time for advice on the presentation length, style and format.
