Drachme, ca. 290-273/271 v.Chr.
Kopf der Nymphe Chalkis mit eingerolltem Haar, dreiteiligem Ohranhänger und Halskette rechts.
Rs: Adler mit ausgebreiteten Schwingen rechts, im Schnabel und mit beiden Fängen eine Schlange haltend, die sich um den Körper des Raubvogels windet; im Feld rechts Artemis nach links eilend, in beiden Händen je eine Fackel haltend.
Picard Emission 25 (Vs. 3/Rs. d) und Taf. XII, 3d (dieses Exemplar). 3,27g. St. 4.
Äußerst selten.

From the Wallace collection. A great rarity. Picard knew of only three pieces outside museum collections, all three in the Wallace collection. He missed the Tübingen coin, now published as SNG Tübingen, 1609.
