Tetradrachmon, ca. 500-465 v.Chr.
Kuh mit zurückgewandtem Kopf nach rechts stehend und sich mit dem angehobenen, rechten Hinterhuf an der Schnauze kratzend, auf ihrem Rücken Schwalbe nach rechts sitzend; im Feld darunter E.
Rs: Oktopus mit acht ausgebreiteten Fangarmen, im Feld darunter E; das Ganze in vertieftem Quadrat und in vertieftem Rund.
Traité 1070 bis var. SNG Spencer-Churchill 143 (dieses Exemplar). SNG Lockett 1791. 17,31 g. St. 7.
Sehr selten.

Ex Bank Leu AG 30 (28 April 1982), 115. A well struck coin in high relief, with a long and distinguished pedigree. Lovely old cabinet toning. A flawless example of this very rare type, probably the best specimen known.
