HISTIAIA
No.: 362 Tetrobol, zweite Hälfte 4. Jhdt.v.Chr. This earliest known tetrobol is the prototype of the coins that in the third and especially the second century were issued in large numbers and circulated widely within Greece. The dies are by the same hand as the preceding octobol. Newell apparently was not aware of this issue because he only compared his octobol to the early drachms and the grapes tetrobols (see nos. 360 and 366 of this catalogue).
