Tetradrachmon, erste Hälfte 5. Jhdt.v.Chr.
[KAΡ]Y[ΣTI ΩN]. Kuh mit zurückgewandtem Kopf über geperlter Abschnittlinie nach links stehend.
Rs: Hahn über Abschnittlinie nach rechts stehend; das Ganze in vertieftem Quadrat.
Asyut S. 54 und Taf. XIV, 251 corr. (dieses Exemplar, das Gewicht jedoch irrtümlich mit 16,80 g angegeben). Traité 1084 und Taf. XXXII, 14 (stempelgleich) = Slg. Lucien de Hirsch 1256. 16,91 g. St.11.
Sehr selten.

From the Asyut hoard, and the Numismatic Fine Arts Mail Bid Sale of 14 December 1989, 283. In the Asyut publication it is incorrectly stated that only the obverse die of this coin is shared with the Brussels specimen. The two coins are actually die duplicates. In spite of the die wear (and not the circulation wear) that reduces the quality of this coin, it is still an attractive specimen with its typical Asyut colour just beginning to tone.
