Vue du site appelé « pertes du Rhône ». Au premier plan, la disparition du Rhône dans la roche. Des personnes admirant les chutes et un homme descendant dans la gorge grâce à une échelle. Au second plan, le pont et le village de Coupy. La ville et le château de Bellegarde-sur-Valserine en arrière-plan.

Legend
Village of Coussy on the right, château and village of Bellegarde on the most elevated part of the same hill. The bridge is that of Coussy, which formerly served as a limit to France and Savoy. The ladder, as mentioned in the description of the Rhône, is placed for the convenience of strangers who are desirous of minutely exploring the channel and disappearance of the river.
