Together with my colleague Prof. Han Brunner (Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre and NBIC, NL), a prominent clinical geneticist, I taught a one-day introductory module on clinical bioinformatics. While Han focused whole-genome sequencing for identifying rare variants for mental disorders, I explained how array-based genotyping of large cohorts can be used to identify genetic polymorphisms can be associated with common disorders.
