Oktobol, ca. 180-146 v.Chr.
Kopf der Nymphe Chalkis mit eingerolltem Haar und dreiteiligem Ohranhänger rechts.
Rs: XAΛKI. Adler mit ausgebreiteten Schwingen nach rechts stehend und gegen eine in mehreren Windungen aufgerichtete Schlange kämpfend, die er mit dem linken Fang am Boden festhält; im Feld rechts ΞENOKΡATHΣ.

Äußerst selten, wohl Unikum.

From the collections of J.P. Lambros, C.S. Bement (Naville & Cie. VI, 28 January 1924, 1066), Sir H. Weber, R.C. Lockett (Glendining & Co., 27 May 1959, Greek Part III, 1621), and Numismatic Fine Arts V (23-24 February 1978), 101. Apparently the only known Chalkis octobol with this magistrate.
